What’s on your Christmas list this year? We share with you Louisa’s list! From ceramics to PJs, let’s see what she’s got on it.
Louisa is all about bold colours, so first up she has one of Sophie Southgate’s beautiful ceramic sculptures.
Sophie Southgate is a ceramic artist based in Kent. Through use of colour, texture and negative space, Sophie’s work playfully tricks the audiences’ perception of weight, what is 2D or 3D and material.
For the love of flowers and the colours of the outdoors, next on Louisa’s Christmas list is Membership to the Royal Horticultural Society, with a Spring gardening course at Wisley.
Watercolour entitled 'Rosa damascena 'Bella Donna', Rosa 'Mignon' by Caroline Maria Applebee painted c.1822.
If you haven’t already, you must try Lillet, a French Aperitif made from a blend of wine, liqueurs, fruits and herbs, perfect for that festive tipple 🌲 It originated in the French village of Podensac and has been made since the late 1800s. Lillet Blanc is made from white wine and is drier than Lillet Rouge, its red-wine counterpart. Both are classically served over ice with an orange twist. Delicious !
Next on Louisa’s Christmas list is the lambswool angora throw from Begg and Co in green and blue, from their collaboration with British artist Michael Wall. Wall is best known for his abstract large-scale canvases, with the London-based painter translating his signature aesthetic onto Begg & Co’s blend of 75% lambswool and 25% angora woven blankets. The colourways mirror his practice of combining characteristically bold primary tones with softer hues. Only 10 blankets have been made from each of Wall’s 4 designs.
Chocolat Foucher is one of the ten oldest companies in Paris in the same family, and you can’t beat their delicious sour cherry chocolates, which Louisa loves mainly because of the hand painted colourful packaging...!
From iconic Parisian brand, Ben Simon, we have the Mr Wonderful original tennis shoes. Fine and light, handmade in Europe, they are made from natural rubber and organic cotton. It is also hand dyed in France in their workshops, which makes each pair unique.
And to finish off Louisa’s Christmas list are these silk pyjamas from YOLKE. London based YOLKE designs gorgeous sleepwear and loungewear with a DNA in print led design. Nothing beats silk pjs at Christmas!
